Elections Overview

 

Applicants for Trustee appointments are now being accepted.

The Board of Trustees is accepting letters of interest for the open offices of Ward 1 Trustee, Ward 3 Trustee and At-Large Trustee.  Any applicant selected for appointment will serve until the new term, which will begin following the April 7, 2026, election and subsequent swearing in ceremony.  The swearing in ceremony will be held on April 16th, 2026.

What to know:

  1. To qualify to sit on the Board of Trustees, you must be at least eighteen years of age, a citizen of the United States and a resident of Foxfield for 12 consecutive months immediately preceding the appointment.  Board meetings are scheduled on the first and third Thursdays of each month.  

  2. Trustees received compensation of $300.00 per quarter.

  3. Public applicant interviews are scheduled to take place on April 29, 2024, starting at 6:30 pm.   Following the interview the current Board of Trustees will vote to determine who will fill the open offices.  Selected Applicants will be sworn in following the vote.   Applicants should be prepared to submit employment forms shortly thereafter.

  4. Selected applicants will serve until the new term begins, which will be April 16, 2026.

  5. The appointment application period is open through April 19th.  Interested applications should send a letter of interest to clerk@townoffoxfield.com

  6. The letters of interest should indicate the position, i.e. At-Large, Ward 1, or Ward 3 Trustee position.  Additionally, applicants should provide a brief biography, and brief summary of their interest.

April 2, 2024, Town of Foxfield Election Cancelled

Due to lack of candidates, the Town of Foxfield Municipal Polling Place Election scheduled for Tuesday, April 2, 2024, was cancelled. Three nominees were declared elected and affirmed on April 5, 2024.

Election 2022 

The 2022 election, which was originally scheduled for April 5, 2022, was canceled due to lack of candidates.  There were three open Trustee positions and only one applicant--Dave Goddard.  Consequently, Trustee Goddard was declared the Ward 2 Trustee.  Additionally, the Town of Foxfield appointed Tim Schultz as the Ward 1 Trustee and Joe Herold as the Ward 3 Trustee, both Mr. Schultz and Mr. Herold will serve two-year appointments.

Foxfield had 651 registered voters as of the date of the election.  209 ballots were cast for a turnout of 32%.

Thank you to Don and Judee Mikulka for the use of their driveway and front porch as our polling place, and to Don for helping with the canvass. We thank Allyson Zoellner for the fun, personalized masks she made. And thank you to Lisa Jones, Sharon Sager and Pam Thompson for the gloves, wipes and hand sanitizer they donated to help keep everyone safe. This was truly a collaborative community effort.
