Elections Overview

April 7, 2026, Town of Foxfield Election

The Town of Foxfield will hold the next regular Municipal Polling Place Election on Tuesday, April 7, 2026, to elect four trustee seats on the Board of Trustees. Voters will determine who will occupy seats currently held by Trustees Schultz (Ward 1), Lawrence (Ward 2), Pakanati (Ward 3), and Hodge (At-Large). 

How to get involved

If you would like to get involved there are several ways.

  1. Run for office.  Candidate Nominations Period Begins January 7, 2026. You must meet eligibility requirements and submit a completed nomination package by 4 pm on January 27, 2026.
  2. Become an election judge.  Democracy is founded on those that are willing to ensure elections function well and are accessible to all.
  3. Register to vote or check that your registration is up-to-date.
  4. Stay informed. Please note that due to increasing spam filter technology many email providers are blocking emails from clerk@townoffoxfield.com.  As a result, Town wide emails are now being sent from no-reply@co.colorado.gov.   Please be sure to add this email to your contact list to prevent future emails from being tagged as spam.  Alternatively, please consider signing up for text messages.  More information can be found at Communication | Town of Foxfield (colorado.gov).

Nomination petitions and other required forms will be available In January of 2026.  They will be posted here or you may request a form the Town Clerk.  The petition must have 10 signatures of registered voters living within your ward.  Completed nomination packets must be returned to the Clerk by January 27, 2026.  The petitions can be dropped off at the Fire Station (South side entrance) from 8:30 to 11:30 on January 27, 2024.  You may also email clerk@townoffoxfield.com to make alternate drop off arrangements.

Elected Official's Commitment

The offices of the Mayor and the At-large Trustees are four-year terms, while the Ward 1, Ward 2, and Ward 3 Trustee offices will be for a two-year term.

The Board of Trustees meet twice a month on Thursday evenings.  Additionally, there can be hearings, study sessions and community events commitments.

Elected Official's Compensation

All elected officials are paid $300.00 per quarter.

Candidate Eligibility

To run for election, you must be:

  • A citizen of the United States of America;
  • A registered voter at least 18 years of age;
  • A resident of Foxfield for 12 consecutive months immediately preceding the election.

2026 Candidate Nominations Period Begins January 7, 2026, and runs through January 27, 2026.

Please print the Nomination Package or Contact the Clerk's office.  All nominate packets must be return to the Clerk by January 27, 2026, by 4 pm.

How and Where to Vote.

  • The Town of Foxfield holds Polling Place Elections. The designated polling place location is at the South Metro Fire Protection District Station No. 42, 7320 South Parker Road.  Voting hours will be 7:00 am until 7:00 pm on April 7, 2026.
  • Alternatively, voters may request an absentee ballot starting on January 8, 2026, and ending at 4 pm on April 3, 2026.  Absentee Ballot Applications should be submitted to the Clerk's office.  Applications will remain on file, and ballots mailed within 72 after once the ballots have been printed.
  • Ballots may be returned by mail; please use adequate postage (66 cents) and be certain to allow enough time for delivery by Tuesday April 7, 2026.

On Election Day, April 7, 2026, between 7:00 am and 7:00 pm, the sealed ballot may be dropped off at the polling place.

  • DO NOT LEAVE THE BALLOT AT THE FIRE STATION PRIOR TO ELECTION DAY

 

What to know:

  1. To qualify to sit on the Board of Trustees, you must be at least eighteen years of age, a citizen of the United States and a resident of Foxfield for 12 consecutive months immediately preceding the appointment.  Board meetings are scheduled on the first and third Thursdays of each month.  

  2. Trustees received compensation of $300.00 per quarter.

On April 29, 2024, the Board of Trustees selected the below applicants as the newly appointed Board of Trustee members.

April 2, 2024, Town of Foxfield Election Cancelled

Due to lack of candidates, the Town of Foxfield Municipal Polling Place Election scheduled for Tuesday, April 2, 2024, was cancelled. Three nominees were declared elected and affirmed on April 5, 2024.

Election 2022 

The 2022 election, which was originally scheduled for April 5, 2022, was canceled due to lack of candidates.  There were three open Trustee positions and only one applicant--Dave Goddard.  Consequently, Trustee Goddard was declared the Ward 2 Trustee.  Additionally, the Town of Foxfield appointed Tim Schultz as the Ward 1 Trustee and Joe Herold as the Ward 3 Trustee, both Mr. Schultz and Mr. Herold will serve two-year appointments.

Foxfield had 651 registered voters as of the date of the election.  209 ballots were cast for a turnout of 32%.

Thank you to Don and Judee Mikulka for the use of their driveway and front porch as our polling place, and to Don for helping with the canvass. We thank Allyson Zoellner for the fun, personalized masks she made. And thank you to Lisa Jones, Sharon Sager and Pam Thompson for the gloves, wipes and hand sanitizer they donated to help keep everyone safe. This was truly a collaborative community effort.
